The goal of this project was to engage children in science education while getting physical exercise and using their creative minds in one experience. We worked with volunteers from the City of Nitro, AmeriCorps and Rivers to Ridges Heritage Fund to build an 8′ wide gravel path connecting Nitro Elementary to Ridenour Lake. The trail includes two large art walls to display art for the hikers from both the Elementary and High School.
